What Is On-Page SEO?

On-page SEO is optimizing the content and HTML elements on your page to rank for target keywords.

It's one-third of SEO: technical SEO (30%), on-page SEO (30%), and off-page SEO (40%).

Unlike off-page SEO (backlinks, which you partially control) and technical SEO (site infrastructure), on-page SEO is 100% within your control. You can change it anytime. On-page SEO equals optimize content for target keyword. You have full control over it. Changes take effect immediately. Should be done during content creation, not after.

Each page should target one primary keyword. Not multiple keywords. One.
